Plus Library
Can users share an Asset Folder for the Plus Library?
Yes. If you work in a team and want everyone to share the same assets, rather than each individually download and install them, then you can store them on an NAS drive and have each user set their Asset Folder path to the same location.
Warning: It would be wise to have only one person assigned as the 'downloader' of any new assets. Otherwise multiple people may be downloading and installing the same assets to the same folder.
How do I uninstall a collection from the Plus Library?
Depending on what kind of asset collection you are uninstalling, you can remove collections manually by doing the following:
Uninstalling an HDRI Collection
- Navigate to your Greyscalegorilla Asset folder.
- Go to the .../hdris/ folder.
- Delete the folder of the HDRI collection you wish to remove.
Uninstalling a Material Collection
- Navigate to your Greyscalegorilla Asset folder.
- Go to the .../materials/ folder.
- Find and delete any gsglib file you see that corresponds with the collection you are removing.
- If you wish to remove an entire collection and you don't want to use it in any renderer, make sure to remove the corresponding maps folder.
- If you are removing an arnold collection, make sure to remove the corresponding arnold texture folder.
- If you removed a gsglib file for a specific renderer but you still want to use that collection with another renderer, make sure not to delete the maps folder that corresponds with the collection. Many collections share the same textures.
Uninstalling a Texture Collection
- Navigate to your Greyscalegorilla Asset folder.
- Go to the .../textures/ folder.
- Delete the folder of the texture collection you wish to remove.
Removing a Collection from the HUB's Installed Tab
- In the HUB go to the Installed tab.
- Alt + Right click (or on the mac Option + Right Click) the item you wish to remove and then click 'Remove from Install List'
- Click Yes on the dialogue.
Note: This does not remove any files from your computer, make sure to remove the files by hand by following the instructions corresponding with the Collection type above.
